Please contact your Professional Services Consultant or firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain the following files:
- EMSCampusWebService.msi – EMS Campus Web Service installation file
- Views.sql – Script that will create EMS Campus specific views in your SIS that the EMS Campus Web Service will use to query/update data.
- Queries.xml – SIS-specific configuration file used by the EMS Campus Web Service to connect to your SIS.
Note: EMS Campus clients using the tab-delimited file option can skip to the EMS Campus Web Service Hardware/Software Requirements section.
- Obtain the Views.sql file (required for new EMS Campus installations AND upgrades.)
- Create an EMS Campus specific account (name and password are arbitrary) in the SIS database that has been granted permissions to execute the EMS Campus views and has update privileges on the table used to store course meeting information. This account will be used by the EMS Campus Web Service to connect, query, and update your SIS via the views created by the Views.sql file.
Note: For a list of permissions by table for your particular SIS, please contact your Prfoessional Services Consultant.
- Execute Views.sql against your SIS database. (Note: Depending on your database management system, you may need to execute the Views.sql file using the account created in Step 2.)
- Complete the following additional steps based on your SIS Database Management System.
No further steps are required.
- Install the Oracle Client (version 11.1.x or 11.2.x) on your web server. Choose the ‘Administrator’ installation type option.
- Using the Oracle Net Manager, create a TNSNAMES.ora file.
- Verify that the PATH Environment Variable references the location of your TNSNAMES.ora file.
- Create a TNS_ADMIN Environment Variable to point to the location of your TNSNAMES.ora file.
- Grant to the Authenticated Users group Read + Execute privileges on your main Oracle directory. Make sure that permissions are propagated to all child objects.
- Reboot your web server.
- Launch SQL Plus and log-in.
- Execute the following statement to verify connectivity to your Oracle-EMS buildings view.
- Select * from ems_vwbuildings;
